May I call you comrade

(Note: I originally wrote this years ago as satire, just for fun, and never published it. Now that it’s looking like prophecy I thought I’d put it out here)

Welcome my friends and fellow citizens.

It has been a long, hard struggle but the end is almost here. Our party is now finally in complete political control in all 50 states. The long battle against considerable reactionary forces has ended in total victory. Power to the People!

The final victory, here in Idaho, has not been easy, but with the timely arrival of 500,000 new voters from Bangladesh, we were finally able to outvote the firmly established locals. Certainly, the passage of the “one person, one vote” law, giving the franchise to everyone who is in our great democratic country at election time, was a significant factor. Let’s give thanks to the wisdom of the party in ramming this law through congress in time for this election.

Also, I want to thank the UN for their help with the emergency airlift of the 500,000 new citizens recently authorized by our leader in the White House. By recognizing the great need of this impoverished 1/2 million to colonize our wide open spaces and help fill them up, the Chief Executive has also helped to fulfill their dreams of voting their way out of poverty and getting on the welfare rolls of our great county.

I’d also like to mention that the “Full Employment For All Voters act” was passed with an overwhelming majority vote in Kansas and Nebraska. As is usual with these types of laws, the language of the bill had nothing to do with its title. Despite this, it has significantly helped in the efforts of the 18 million settlers who recently emigrated here from Africa and Asia to free the land from the unfeeling corporate farmers who were hogging all the good farmland. The “slight” loss in productivity their takeover of the land has caused is only temporary, according to our experts. It is more than compensated by the joy these people have in being able to continue their tribal culture and way of life now that they are “fully employed” citizens of the US. Having swept away the last vestiges of industrial farming that were imposed on this poor land they can now celebrate the return of the subsistence lifestyle in America’s heartland. And, effective immediately, due to their perpetual downtrodden status, sheep, and cattle will be accepted in payment of taxes.

Continuing on, the referendum on worldwide re-distribution of wealth, recently conducted jointly by the UN and the WEF, has been wisely accepted by our leadership in Washington and was acknowledged as binding on all of our citizens. The final tally showed that 99% of all the world’s citizens voted to distribute this country’s wealth, unjustly collected with Imperialist greed, to the rest of the world equally. Accordingly, all personal and corporate assets have been seized by the World Bank. Checks in the amount of 37 cents will be mailed to everybody on the planet as soon as enough postal workers can be hired to deliver them.

However, in view of their great service to humanity at large, certain entertainers, actors, and politicians currently in office will be excluded from this redistribution program.

Now that we have all finally achieved total income equality, with democracy finally in place worldwide, I’m sure there will be no political challenge we cannot overcome. The time of material inequalities is finally over. Anything you want, just get together a simple majority and vote for it, and it will be yours.

I’d like to go on but I am late for the victory banquet so I am going to leave you now to your grubbing in the earth for roots and worms to eat. Be proud, we could not have done it without you. Work hard, and remember to keep up your reproductive behavior, after all, every vote counts.

As a final note, let me at last stop calling you citizen, it’s finally time to call you “comrade”.

Just saw a clip of someone asking for people on the ground in Ohio to come forward with their stories. Do we really have to point out that the people “on the ground” are running for their lives?

Oh, look, a balloon!

Not too long ago I posted and recently reposted a rhetorical question regarding what currently will happen if the redline at the White House rings regarding a serious threat to the country, ie; who takes the call and makes the big decisions.

Enter this week’s spy balloon incident. Everybody knows the raw details now, how it took a leisurely stroll from China over the Aleutians, and then Alaska, and then proceeded to hang around our missile silos long enough to be spotted by a civilian, thence to be ignored as it floated it way across the country, to be finally shot down by our brave leadership after it’s mission was over.

Now, after giving the talking heads plenty of time to fabricate and then refashion the story of this incident with increasingly less believability, I have an answer to my question.

And the answer is, drum roll please, no one. That’s NOBODY, with a big N. The phone rings and then they all just sit around looking at each other. They don’t dare wake up grandpa, and they are terrified of making a decision that might step on somebody’s political toes.

Generals and high-level staff members pontificate and well, lie, the White House press secretary becomes more and more inarticulate, media personalities spin in the wind and try to pretend it’s no big deal, and, in the end, after a week of doing nothing, and a few more days of making shit up, they finally blame, guess who, Trump.

I’m going to let you read the original article if you’ve a mind, the title kinda says it all. I read quite a few of the comments, and couldn’t leave one myself for some reason, maybe because I’m not in England, but anyway they missed this angle so I’ll leave this for you to ponder.

Its well known that the embryo communicates its needs to the mother’s body via chemical exchanges between the developing baby and its host while in the uterus. Given this, and granted this is a bit of science fiction, it is within the realm of possibility that the embryo may induce the woman’s body to repair itself, including brain function, in order to avail itself of a properly working environment for its development.

If this were to happen, and consciousness returns, the question would be, “if the original soul had left the body due to brain death, and the brain was repaired, would the same soul return, or would something else move in?”

I am, of course, asking for a friend…

That’s so cringy …

I saw a short video on a site called vidmax.com showing an apparent guy being confronted for pissing in the stall of a girl’s bathroom. He says something to the effect that he’s trans it’s allowed and they are going to have to take his word for it as justification for being in there. At that point the lady confronting him throws up her hands with a what can I do and the clip ends.

Meanwhile, same day, I see this on an English website:

Man livid at wife for not calling him a pilot – despite never flying a plane in his life

The man slammed his wife for not introducing him as a pilot to her work colleagues – despite the fact he’s never flown a plane or had any flight training in his life

Although he’s never been to flight school or received any formal training, the man believes he’s as good, or “possibly even more knowledgeable” than the average pilot – so he believes his wife should refer to him as one.

After leaving the party, the man and his wife got into an argument, with the woman saying she refuses to call her husband a pilot when he’s never flown a plane, and the man calling her “insensitive”.

Commenters on the post were equally horrified by the man’s claims, as one responded: “You aren’t a pilot. Once you earn money flying planes you are a pilot. I feel sorry for your wife having to deal with this.”

And another wrote: “If you are ashamed of your job title, get a different job, don’t pretend to be something you’re not. That’s so cringy.”

At some point, even the most ardent defender of this sort of thing is going to have to face the fact that you can’t have it both ways. Either objective reality matters or we are going to go with the idea that anyone can declare anything about themselves at any time and the rest of the world just has to suck it up and believe them no matter how ridiculous the claims being made are.

So far, it looks like objective reality is losing, and lets face it, that is a bit cringy.
